System keeps logging out users for many actions

Post by rafa99 »

The users including admins are getting logged out while doing certain routine tasks such as click the Submit button. It says some crazy error messages like No user found or You have no authorization or whatecer.
Thankfully if the user logs in immediately, the actions work ok
But this is a huge problem because the user may have typed up a large reply to a post and click Submit button and it gets lost . The user has to save a copy or if they know what to do, they can re login & hit the Back button and then Submit.

I cleared the browser cache but no luck.
If this is happening to many users including admins., it most likely may not abe client side issue & it worries me. I will be chasing a ghost.

Ultimate nightmare would be not being able to login as any admin.

Incorrect cookie settings can cause that.
What's the url of your board? (send it per PM if you don't want it public)
Spelling is freeware, which means you can use it for free.
On the other hand, it is not open source, which means you cannot change it or publish it in a modified form.

Thanks for your reply. But as I stated in my first post, I cleared the cache including cookies etc
That was NOT the problem.

I woke up in the middle of the night realizing the solution.
It is neither on the server side nor the client side.
It is not middleware like your ISP provider.
Can anyone guess what it is ?

Hint : I also have similar problems while trying to view more & more sites these days especially financial & govermental

Clearing cookies wouldn't solve the issue if the cookie settings were incorrect.

No

Fixing incorrect cookie settings

Since you don't provide a url, I can't check whether the settings are correct or.
