Making videos non-downloadable

Post by VED036 »

When I asked Meta AI about ways to make videos posted on phpbb websites non-downloable, I got this answer:

QUOTE: Third-Party Extensions: Install phpBB extensions that provide video protection features, such as "Video Protector" or "Anti-Download". These extensions can add an extra layer of protection against video downloads.
END

Are such extensions available? If so, where?

Don't. AI doesn't know anything. It's a complete misnomer.

on a forum it's not possible to protect videos against downloads.

video streaming servers (usually expensive) can offer sone kind of protection by using proprietary protocols, but it's always a question of time until some browser extension circumvents it.

so I would forget about protecting videos, many large platforms did abandon the idea as well
