Auto expire new registrations to combat spam signups?

Is there a way to auto expire new registrations that haven't confirmed via the welcome email?

I've implemented Akismet and Stop Forum Spam extensions but I still get signups that never confirm by the welcome email. I am concerned that, if left in the queue, one day these likely bot accounts will confirm all at once and start spamming.

I think an obvious improvement here would be a setting to auto expire new registrations or at least the confirmation url.

You’ll want to use this, it does what you’re wanting to achieve. This isn’t a feature in vanilla phpBB.
