Hi Dicky,
there are already few mods similar to this, but no one has smilies support...I have a mod which makes possible to add smilies in topic titles so i'm gonna ask you: is it possible to add smilies support in your mod?

Not knowing which smilies MOD you have, I will give a qualified yes, that my MOD will support smilies in topic titles.

Which smilies MOD are you using? I will look and see what I can do.

Suggestion. Move the title above the date and remove "In".

Everybody wants something different. I am not going to change the display code from the way it is now. If somebody wants something different, the code is easy enough to modify and I will be more than happy to give instructions how to set the display the way anyone wants.

Heavily modded 2.0.17, and I just installed Today/Yesterday MOD by netclectic, works great.

I added topic_on_index_103_TY.mod and get an error message on index.php:

Code: Select all

Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_ELSE in /home/jcliff/public_html/ff/index.php on line 686
If I simply remove "else" from 686, the board works fine, except on index, it always says "No Posts"

If I leave it, this is what that part of index.php looks like after the mod is installed:

Code: Select all

	// append first 25 characters of topic title to last topic data
								if (strlen($lttitle) > 25)
								{
									$last_post .= $lang_in . '&nbsp;' . '<a title="' . $altlttitle . '" alt="' . $altlttitle . '" href="' . append_sid("viewtopic.$phpEx?" . POST_TOPIC_URL . "=$ltid") . '">' . substr($lttitle, 0, 25) . '...</a><br />';
								}
								else
								{
									$last_post .= $lang_in . '&nbsp;' . '<a title="' . $altlttitle . '" alt="' . $altlttitle . '" href="' . append_sid("viewtopic.$phpEx?" . POST_TOPIC_URL . "=$ltid") . '">' . substr($lttitle, 0, 25) . '</a><br />';
								}

								$last_post .= ( $forum_data[$j]['user_id'] == ANONYMOUS ) ? $lang['by'] . '&nbsp;' . ( ($forum_data[$j]['post_username'] != '' ) ? $forum_data[$j]['post_username'] . ' ' : $lang['Guest'] . ' ' ) : $lang['by'] . '&nbsp;' . '<a href="' . append_sid("profile.$phpEx?mode=viewprofile&" . POST_USERS_URL . '='  . $forum_data[$j]['user_id']) . '">' . $forum_data[$j]['username'] . '</a> ';

//-- MOD END: Last Topic Title on Index -------------------

								$last_post .= '<a href="' . append_sid("viewtopic.$phpEx?"  . POST_POST_URL . '=' . $forum_data[$j]['forum_last_post_id']) . '#' . $forum_data[$j]['forum_last_post_id'] . '"><img src="' . $images['icon_latest_reply'] . '" border="0" alt="' . $lang['View_latest_post'] . '" title="' . $lang['View_latest_post'] . '" /></a>';
							}
					       else
					       {
					        $last_post = $lang['No_Posts'];
							}
I'm new at this, but coming along quickly...

Thanks in advance.

Never mind...

I deleted the following and all is good!

Code: Select all

		$last_post .= '<a href="' . append_sid("viewtopic.$phpEx?"  . POST_POST_URL . '=' . $forum_data[$j]['forum_last_post_id']) . '#' . $forum_data[$j]['forum_last_post_id'] . '"><img src="' . $images['icon_latest_reply'] . '" border="0" alt="' . $lang['View_latest_post'] . '" title="' . $lang['View_latest_post'] . '" /></a>';
							}
					       {
					        $last_post = $lang['No_Posts'];
