edit:

if you want, you can use:

Code: Select all

<a href="http://www.greensmilies.com" target="_blank">green smilies</a>
instead of the longer version with "green smilies: niedermayr.cc"...

Can you explain to me how to do this?

"If u want to use this smilies on your board please insert this beside the phpBB-copyright:

<a href="http://smilies.niedermayr.cc/" class="copyright">green smilies: niedermayr.cc</a> "

Do I have to do this before I upload to my hosting service or can I do it after through my dashboard at my hosting site?

In either case, what file do I need to go to for adding your copyright info... and, how can I open that file? For instance: can I do it with Wordpad or Notepad in Windows XP?

I already unpacked them to a folder on my hard drive and then uploaded the files via FTP onto my site but I'm not seeing them through my ACP when I'm in the proper Smilies/Create/Add area with the dropdown menu. I assume that's because of the copyright protection? So some help would be much appreciated.

Thanks... and nice looking smilies, I hope I can get some help on this so I can use them.

your point is... and how long do templates take again? I might use it if it werent for the (C) notice. If they were very very good, not just plain green animated smilies, i would use them no matter what. But i dont think these really earned it. I could have someone make it for me for NO notice/cost at all, id expect.

@ jonestown1
you can do it everytime you like. just find "overall_footer.tpl" in your template-directory, inside search for:

Code: Select all

Powered by <a href="http://www.phpbb.com/" target="_phpbb" class="copyright">phpBB</a> &copy; 2001, 2005 phpBB Group
and after that add:

Code: Select all

 - <a href="http://smilies.niedermayr.cc/" class="copyright">green smilies: niedermayr.cc</a>
@ subavlhpf
please don't jump around on this small link, if you do not want to put it into your footer, just do not use the green smilies - you see, it is very easy Image

and if someone can made them for you -> "make it so"

i just found this topic via google and have a question relating to the copyright stuff.

my overallfooter file doesen't have those texts.
yet, it still says the copyright info on the bottem of the forum.

instead of the copyright text, the file itself says <span class="copyright">
so..where is the class defined?
since the template its useing is made by me and i'll have it for download, i'd like to add to the copyright info stating the template was made by me.
