Hi, really nice. Now got to try it. At least dont have to check the DB for updates all the time.

Is is possible to add your own mod database to search?

like phpbbhacks?

cause sometimes phpbbhacks files are more up to date.

Nice mod but here is my little request....
Can phpBB Mod team please write down Classification in each mod's install.txt?
If that, people do not have to go back www.phpbb.com/mods to check for the classification which mod they are adding is.

According to mod's instructions:

Code: Select all

##	* When you add a new mod, you can also add the category where it belongs to. If you don't know it, you can leave it
## to "Unknown" and the mod will try to find it the next time you check for this mod's update.
## If the mod is found in the MODDB while checking, then the mod's category is updated to show the right one.
##
## Please note that when you have a mod's category to "Unknown", this causes bigger delay when checking for updates,
## since all categories have to be checked; so this is not recommended. This is why by default a mod's checkbox becomes unchecked
## when it belongs to the Unknown category.

As i know, mod versions uploaded to phpbbhacks aren't approved by the phpbb MOD Team, so i would call them "different" versions of mods.
But in any case, it would be easy (i think  ) to add another mod database as long as the database displays all mods on a single page or on multiple pages using predefined categories.

"up to date" means that your installed version is the same with the moddb one.
"newer" means that your installed version is newer than the one in moddb (this shouldn't happen very often).

From instructions:

Code: Select all

This is why by default a mod's checkbox becomes unchecked
## when it belongs to the Unknown category.
You have to check it manually before pressing the "check for updates" button.
