Can't download phpBB 3 Beta 1

Post by CableMonkey »

I have tried every mirror at SourceForge for downloading the beta, but am unable to find a working mirror. Is there a known issue somewhere that I have missed?

Thanks ToonArmy. I must be blind today, for I didn't see that link mentioned anywhere.

Normally I wouldn't recommend what I am about to tell you, but so far from what I have seen they are all valid files.

Search Google for the source file name:

phpBB-3.0.B1.zip

You will find plenty of mirrors there. Some of them are links to many of the same SourceForge mirrors. I was able to download it in no time.

Personally at first glance, the style of the board is very similar, however I do have to give them credit for bringing the administrative control panel into the 21st century. It needed that facelist terribly.

Downloading from phpBB.com or SF.net is the safest ;)

As has been said many times before there is a new style for phpBB 3 but it has not been released yet because it is secret ;)

I could not find any mirrors that worked.

http://www.phpbb.com/development/files/phpBB-3.0.B1.zip Did download the file but my zip program (Winzip) gives me an error message: "Cannot open file: it does not appear to be a valid archive.

I downloaded the file several times with the same results.

The Google search came back with nothing.

I have tried to download the TAR file and I get another error from Winzip. First I get "unexpected end of file enountered." Followed by "Invalid Compression Data-unable to inflate."

I have tried to download several times. It seems to only download part of the file but not the install.php.
