How do I change the defaults for new user registration?

Post by markcrobinson »

I would like all new users to have "Send Email when Replies are posted" YES by default. Currently it is NO by default.
Can you tell me where to look for this setting?

Thanks

If you have phpMyAdmin, go to the structure of the table phpBB_users and edit the default values for each setting you want it to be. 1 usually is yes and 0 is usually no.

Do you mean to change the Anonymous User?

Post by markcrobinson »

Is the first user "Anonymous" the default?
I changed email_notify to 1
didn't seem to work.

whatever you did to the anonymous user, switch it back and dont' mess with the anonymous user.

the method you were told is not how to do this.

Code: Select all

#--[ OPEN ]---
includes/usercp_register.php
#--[FIND ]--
$notifyreply = ( isset($HTTP_POST_VARS['notifyreply']) ) ? ( ($HTTP_POST_VARS['notifyreply']) ? TRUE : 0 ) : 0;
#--[ REPLACE WITH ]--
$notifyreply = ( isset($HTTP_POST_VARS['notifyreply']) ) ? ( ($HTTP_POST_VARS['notifyreply']) ? TRUE : 0 ) : TRUE;
#--[EOM ]--
I'm baaaaaccckkkk. still doing work on donation basis. PM your needs.
