Well if this is the case I guess I will have to create my own theme because I will not use this style on my board.

No one is forcing you to. subSilver2 will also be included if you prefer that.

Personally seeing the following in a huge font after every post is really starting to annoy me:
Re: Prosilver style: first impressions

How about shrinking that and increasing the user name?

That makes some sense. +1 on your suggestion btw, the post subject is way too big and the username way too small. I need to be able to see who says what with a glance and not search for these small letters.

Good job, guys!!!

Overall, I like the look of the new template. The color combinations are very nice. I don't especially like the avatar and user info being on the right of the post, but I have only been looking at the new format for about 5 minutes. Perhaps that will grow on me. if not, it won't be difficult to modify once the code is released, so no worries here. :)

One thing that I didn't notice until I went to post this reply -- what happened to the font color selector in the posting screen?

Stream of concience:

I'm confused by the fact that there are six smilies displayed by default in the posting screen when they are displayed in rows of 5.

I also miss the "go to next/previous topic" link that subSilver sported.

The "forum rules" box is obviously intended to stand out, but ... pink?

The big deal is that it renders like crap in IE6 (bugs will be filed shortly).

I don't care for this new look at all. Everything is in bold and the font does not look good. But that's my opinion...Hopefully other templates will be better than this one.
And I much prefer the avatars and names on the other side like they used to be.

Red is the international colour of warning/danger/stop.
I don't know, but I'll take a stab that's why, so it stands out.

As for the topic info on the right, I can proudly say that I like it. And for you who say you won't be using it, subSilver2, or just tweak the CSS, it should be really easy.

Only two lines in CSS actually. ;)

I dont really care for the right-hand profile box. It makes me want to lean to the side while I am reading... Same thing when I am posting... The right-hand smilie box has pushed the message to the left. I would much prefer the message on the right. The lefthand message makes me feel that I am reaching for it.

Also, this new color-scheme seems to have too much white, like the borders are too thick or something.

Yea, What did happen to the color grid. That was an awesome feature in the subSilver version. :(

I think the new theme is great, a change is as good as a holiday. The only thing that would concern me about the details on the right is when somebody posts a post that stretches the page horizontally.

Other than that, I love it.
