Only two lines in CSS actually. ;)

Couldn't get much simpler than that ;)

Other than a few thing here and there, I actually really like the new theme. I always edit the css/images to suite my needs anyways, and I think this will do nicely as a starting block. At first I wasn't too keen on the user info on the right, but I see the benefits after a few minutes of use.

And when viewing the designing ProSilver blog, I noticed some things that were different and I was just wondering if the styles guys had some insight (see attachment for reference):
newstyle1.jpg
1: I don't see a New Post Button in viewtopic
2: Text increase/decrease?
3: Pagination seems different than what we have here
4: Not sure what these little buttons do, but assume they are an up/down feature
5: Looks like some cool reply features (reply in PM/with quote)
6: Go to unread?

Again, awesome job!

ps: in posting: text color, am I missing something?

I think the best part is that whatever you don't specifically like about this theme can be easily modified with very little work. I know most people will tweak a few things.

Or, even better, designing completely new themes is cake. Just in general creating themes for phpBB3 is easy.

Even thought i'm not a template designer, just looking at 3.0 makes me think that creating themes should be much easier. Anyways, my impression is it is really a good change, and the sleek layout is really cool.

I almost forgot: Search results shows no breadcrumbs underneath topic title. eg If I hit "active topics" I'm presented with a list of topic titles, but have no idea what forum they belong to. I think it's a good idea to show that.

Sometimes it takes time to appreciate artistic and conceptual change. There are some things here that may take some getting used to (we went through some of the same things with subSilver after all), but my first impressions are overwhelmingly favorable. And I think I see concept influences from other contexts, such as blogs, and that's a plus IMHO. So for my buck, this is worth whatever getting used to it going to take. Well done!

So far I love the style, and I don't really mind user info on the right.

phpBB is a discussion system, so I prefer to focus on the content of the post, not how many posts the user has. Putting that information in a separate position is good.

However, the username is still too small. It'd be nice if it was a few sizes larger so I could easily recognize who made the post. Yes, I know that it's above the post content too, but that's too small as well.

I thought I remember reading on one of a thread talking about a new style for phpBB.com that will not be use as the default. And I am thinking this prosilver is probably not the default one. Can a dev or staff confirm that prosilver is a default template shipping out with the phpBB3?

Nope.

Is in proSilver, just not in the version on this site.
Sammy Sandbag wrote: 3: Pagination seems different than what we have here

Not by much.
Sammy Sandbag wrote: 4: Not sure what these little buttons do, but assume they are an up/down feature

Yes.

Have you tried clicking the PM button on the post details? ;)
Sammy Sandbag wrote: 6: Go to unread?

Next to the pagination on topics containing unread posts ;)

I'm already getting used to it. I think it's great. Still, you really need to do what CardsFanInChiTown suggested: shrink the post subject and increase the username, preferrably the username as shown above the post ("posted on .... by ____"). A colour change might be nice there as well... when a mod posts, where the username is bold and a different colour, it's much easier to see. If we could have it at the size the topic subject is now, it would be much more practical and easier to see at a glance.

Definitely growing on me, my third visit this evening and I can say that it feels very nice reading these short messages, the layout is very good, I wonder what it will be like on boards with very long messages.

The unjustified text looks a bit weird next to the right profile panel, especially on long paragraphs, but that's trivial, worst case put the poster info back on the left.

Also, the report post button seems off, it's a pixel higher than the quote and edit buttons.

Otherwise, for now, great work! Even the colour scheme looks better and better as I browse more.

PS. Love the new exaggerated post-titles, at last there is some purpose to using them, I have to start though, break the habit of ignoring them.

If we're supposed to post "bugs", on the reply page there is that "expand view" button where you see the last posts in the topic... when you click it, it should turn into something like "shrink view", as, when you click it again, it returns to the previous condition.

I really like the new color scheme, but having the account info, smilies, etc. on the right side of the screen just doesn't work in my mind. Other than that I love the new look.

The new style is absolutely cool. I'm loving it. subSilver (which will always have a place in my heart) was revolutionary when it was introduced 5 years ago, and Prosilver is equally revolutionary, and some great work by Tom Beddard. Congratulations, phpBB team.

(My only question, whatever happened to "it will not ship with the betas, it will not ship with the release candidates?")
