Re: [Alpha] User Blog Mod

Nice mod. I tested on your site and notice few bugs.

- After register and relogin. Member cannot post blog immediately. i have to relogin the 2nd time before I can post my blog. (I'm not sure why or maybe it because my cache or firefox setting..)
- When replying to blog, member need to enter Subject. I'm not sure but typically ppl dont put a subject when replying in a blog.
- Posted a hyper link in among my first paragraph but the url does not working properly. You can view it here under recent posting. (Username=awiekupo) http://lithiumstudios.org/phpBB3/blog.php

I will keep on testing and let you know if i encounter any bugs later. All in all you have done a great job. Keep it up! I'll definitely use it in my forum.

Cheers!

1. I tested that myself and I could post a blog immediately after registering. However I was using an RC2 board on my test site when I did test it, on Lithium Studios the board is RC1, and the files for the user blog mod seem a bit outdated (just noticed that now).

2. I don't know why I have that in there to check for the subject of a reply, I removed the check for that again. :)

3. The URL seems to work fine here...

EXreaction --

This is developing into a great mod!!!!

I just installed it on a phpBB3 RC3 test board, and so far it works very well.

I noticed in the notes in blog.php, that there was mention of providing a conversion tool for The Blog Mod 024b in the late Beta or early RC of this mod. Since I have a phpBB2 board using the blog mod, and since migration of the blogs is currently THE major obstacle to upgrading that site to phpBB3, I really hope that you will make that conversion available.

Thanks for all your work thusfar, and I will be looking forward to seeing your progress with this project.

If you'd be willing to make me a database backup of the tables added in by The Blog Mod it would help me a lot in getting it done faster. :)

Bit of a problem here.

I uploaded it and set everything up. I had it working but I deleted the files in my cache folder and now it does not work. I can't control the permissions for it and it wont let me view my blogs. The links in my header wont appear as well.

If anybody could help, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Thanks,
Try re-uploading the language/en/acp/permissions_blog.php file, then clear phpBB's cache again.

Thanks, I have done all that but it is still not working.

Is there some overriding thing I can do to get this working?

So the permissions tab for the blogs isn't showing up anymore, and it used to be before you cleared the cache?

The tab is showing, but my changes don't seem to be making a difference. I have tried changing both the user and group settings and they seem changed but it still says that I do not have the right permissions when I try to enter my blog. Also when I click into the 'View user-based permissions' area and search my username it still has me put down as no for all the blog entries.

Did you do all the required SQL entries?

Click the O-> button in the view permissions page to see where it has the no set.
