Can I resize my phpbb2 posted images in RC1?

Hi All.
Most of the images users have posted on my bb2 are 800x wide, they show fine in the fixed width
of my old board but my new style is not as wide so they get cut.
Without making the new board wider (i like the new size) is there any way I can get phpbb3 to shrink the images down to 600xwide or just show them in full.
My host doesn't have imagemagick installed but if I ask them to install this will this solve the problem or will that only rezize new attachments posted in 3?

You can enable either the PHP GD extension, or ImageMagick.

If they make the change, it will affect only new posted images, not those already attached.
