Migrating from e107

Post by PointOfLight »

Is there any information available on how to migrate to phpbb from e107? I've used phpbb before, but it's been quite some time, and I'm not familiar at all with e107. These would both be running on a MySQL server. Thanks in advance for any input.

The only possible way, at the moment, would be to convert to phpbb2 and then convert to phpbb3 - but this would be dependant upon there being a e107 > phpbb2 converter available.

I now no longer support any of my extensions but they will start to become available here

Does this still apply?

Is there a E107 -> phpBB2 converter? Or, even better, a E107 -> phpBB3 converter?

There is an e107 to phpBB2 convertor, but it is for an outdated version of e107 and probably won't work for you without modifications.

There is an e107 to phpBB3 convertor in the works, but here is not a timeframe for release.

Can you tell me who is/are working on the converter so I can 'nag' them a bit? 8-)

I'm in serious need of this myself, is there any way I can assist?

I have passable knowledge of scripting e107, fairly decent php skills, etc.

I ended up employing the services of Dicky who converted my database for a very reasonable price! 8-)

Hey guys, I've scanned through the forums a bit and it looks like there is still no e107 (0.7.14) to phpBB3 converter.

I was wondering if someone can direct me to resources to do this myself... if going from e107 to phpBB2 or SMF or something, then to phpBB3, that would be fine. I have a pretty solid understanding of scripting so I can likely modify anything that's a few versions out dated, but there's no way I could write it from scratch.

Any direction is much appreciated... if I can get this all going good I'll post my results and methods.

Hey everyone i thought i should bring this old thread up again.
I am currently running E107 version 0.7.20 and i want to move to PhpBB3 without losing any information, threads or anything thats in the site/forums right now.
Is there any way to do this at this time? I mean there should be a conversion method after these years!

What should i do? Can someone help me out?

Anything else other than that plugin for e107? I would like to pull import data from my e107 database as well.

Dicky, what exactly do you charge for this? You can PM me if you wish.

Thanks
