what other admin panel?

anyway, have you tried clearing your computer's cache/temporary internet files?

if you uploaded your original files , then you should have undone the MOD and be back to normal.

well..that was my question... now I have a white blank admin page... :| hahaha.....
is it the left hand frame which is blank or the right frame..or the whole ACP page?

If it is only the left hand frame which blank then this may be of use
The nav bar of the administration panel is dynamic; put together each time you refresh using the files in the admin folder. If there is a problem with one of the files, the whole thing will blank out. If you have mod files in the folder back them up and then remove them all first and then check the panel. If it is working re-add the files one by one until it blanks again and you will know what mod file is causing the problem. If removing all the mod related admin files does not fix the problem then make a backup of your current admin folder and start replacing the files one at a time with fresh copies. Once the panel comes back, you'll know which file was causing the problem and you'll be able to check further. If you have no MODs that edited the admin folder, you can just load a fresh copy of the whole thing and be done with it.

If i have to replace all the admin files with the fresh one... that will be terrible.. i have a heavy mod forum.
I have never experience this...well.. although i just learn on this phpbb thing last month.. :D

before I edited my files for the "bbcode at forum description' MOD, I did backup the related files.
well, it also ask me to create 2 new tables in the SQL.
Then when it went blank, only the left hand side went blank. My forum side is not affected.

then I tried to delete the related files and re-upload my backup files (they're only 5 files).
Nothing change, the left hand side keep went blank... so although i uninstall the new mod, it still give me blank page...

====================================
then... :D
I did a stupid thing i think...
My logic tell me to check
- template/subsilver/admin/index_body.tpl
- template/subsilver/admin/index_navigate.tpl
- template/subsilver/admin/index_frameset.tpl

then i opened the index_frameset.tpl
<html dir="{S_CONTENT_DIRECTION}">
<head>
<title>phpBB Administration</title>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html;">
</head>

<frameset cols="170,*" rows="*" border="2" framespacing="0" frameborder="yes">
<frame src="{S_FRAME_NAV}" name="nav" marginwidth="3" marginheight="3" scrolling="auto">
<frame src="{S_FRAME_MAIN}" name="main" marginwidth="10" marginheight="10" scrolling="auto">
</frameset>

<noframes>
<body bgcolor="#FFFFFF" text="#000000">
<p>Sorry, your browser doesn't seem to support frames</p>
</body>
</noframes>
</html>
I changed the {S_FRAME_MAIN} to {S_FRAME_NAV}, in hope that the {S_FRAME_NAV} will appear at the right hand side of the frame.
well, you now may laugh (but dont too loud)... Its not working...it gave me full white-blank.

Then i re-upload the previous index_frameset.tpl ....
It still give me full white-blank until now.

:roll:
do you know what happen here?
sorry to confuse you guys :D :D
but me here laugh like crazy, trembling...

thank you.. :)

I gave you specific instructions on how to debug this, there is no point me posting if you are not going to take any notice of the posts I make. The bottom lines is you backup the admin folder before doing as I stated, the process is only to isolate the file which is causing the problem. Then you can restore the backed up admin folder and set about trying to fix the actual problem

You do NOT need to disable your forum, nothing in the admin directory is required by your normal users.
Just follows Karl's procedure and you should find the problem file in a couple of minutes.

oh oh oh... Karl and Ric... love you two.. :D :D :D
I dont know which one was the broken one, but the best thing is that the admin panel is now working.. :D :D :D :D :D :D
Thank you...thank you.... (bows..bows... )

I tried to replace with the fresh one, but it wont work at first...
so boldly (maybe its not that bold for you), I decided to emptied all the admin folder... then put the complete fresh set of admin-folder.
It works.. :D :D
then one by one I follow your suggestion, I re-upload my backup files one by one... and All replaced and it works.. Yaaaayyyy..... which one was the broken one?? i dont care... hahahaha...

ah, I need to ask you again 2 more questions.

There suppose to be some files in my mods folder (under admin folder)
now there are no "mods folder". The admin panel and forum seems to work well.. should i put the mods all up again under admin-folder? or i dont need to?

If you read my stupid mistake up there in this topic, it seems the effect still remain.. :P
both of my frames (in admin panel) are the "index_navigate.tpl" now...
I've check my "index_frameset.tpl" it looks good... index_navigate.tpl at the left, index_body.tpl at the right...
However, this is not a big deal, because when i click the "admin index" link, the index_body.tpl will be loaded at the right hand side...
I just confused. :)

once again, thanks guys. :D

whatever tpl files you changed, upload new ones to replace them.

don't worry about that mods folder that is now missing from the admin panel. the MODs you have installed do not need it to be there.

however, easymod will no longer work correctly without it.

I'm also running a "dynamic administration panel", my hosting company decided to upgrade PHP to v5.x.x; which has now rendered my LEFT side Admin panel navigation usless (BLANK).

Any ideas since nothing whas been added/edited MOD wise since '04. :|
