[ABD] (Topic &) Post Rating System (with Karma module)

Well, after some intensive searches I found a MSSql application to run the script. if anyone is interested I started a thread with application name and location it.

Anyway, I am no SQL guru, but when I execute the script to populate the DB, I get the foilowing errors for MSSQl insertion. Does anyone know what I might need to do to get the script to work... Here are the errors...

Alfatrion, I really appreciate all the help you're giving me and others with your MOD. I have come to the conclusion that there are too many differences with MySql and MSSql and at this point, I am too busy in other areas of my forum and websites to work on MODs.

MODs seem pretty easy, just edit the files, copy them and other needed files over to your forum, execute a SQL script and your done. But MySql and MSSql have subtle differences which, at this time, I do not have the time to figure out.

I have decided to forgo trying to add ANY MODs to my forum for now. Again, thanks for all your help you've been great. I will someday return when I have more experience with MSsql so I can work out the differences.

One good thing that came out of all this is I found an excellent FREEWARE MSSql DB tool. It's pretty straight forward and easy to use and I thought I would pass this along to whomever might need a MSSql tool... It's a Microsoft SQL Server administration tool and it's called SQL Manager 2008 lite.

Oh, one last note, I don't get it... why do some ppl seem to want to knock down a developer because they don't develop their way? I've seen this happen in other MOD threads. As for the person that kept ripping on you earlier in this thread, come on man.

The download link can be found at the first page. I'll check it out.

The zip file is oke, but something goes wrong when downloading the file with IE on windows. It works if I get it though samba or download it with FF on unix.

ok .... I downloaded it with IE but I extracted it twice by WinRar and I got it

I install most of it and it looks Graet !! .... but I need the code for subsilver2 in order to complete the installation

I found that ther is a "modx.subsilver.en.xsl" but there is not a "modx.subsilver.en.xml" for it .... so I can't find out what I should do to make it work with subsilver

The problem is not the link but IE. The final release will probery be though ftp instead of http and this may resolve the problem.

SubSilver is not supported at this time.

Yes this mod can be applied for the first post, this is done thought the ACP after install.

This mod will work for any template, but I can't say if there will be instructions on what to change. I'm thinking of releasing 0.3.x as 1.0. Its unlikly that I will make instructions for subsilver myself, but I'm always pleased to include work of others. At a later date more features may be included in 1.2. or 2.0.

Well ... Unfortunately , I don't know how to apply it on subsilver ...

But I promise that I will give tha Arabic translation of the Mod , because that is all what I can do

That's really good news... I am now finishing up my SQL conversion from MSSql to MySql. My hosting Company converted me over and when I am sure all is going well, I will make a backup of my DB and install your MOD.

Also, I realize you're one busy puppy but if you ever get a chance and it's not too much of a coding nightmare could you see if you could make it so we can set if so only the FIRST posing in a thread can receive a rating?

I know others would like this, but also know from my experience in programming that this can mean a huge rewrite and may not be worth the headaches.
