You may want to clarify one part of the installation instructions for the file 'viewtopic.php'. The line you say to find appears twice in the file. Do we modify both instances of the line?
I'll check that out. No-one complained about it before, and I normally manage to differentiate in some way even when the code does look very similar. Each find only ever applies to one occurrence.
The XML file for the Subsilver2 instructions also appears to be broken for version 1.1.1.
Thanks, I'll check that out, although the validator accepted it okay (the submission procedure has been improved since the first release of some of my mods!)
Also, I have been unsuccessful installing this mod for the TwilightBB style in PHPBB 3.0.7. After installing by hand and refreshing templates all I get on the index page is a white screen.
White pages normally mean invalid PHP code and PHP bailing before it can write anything. Check your server's error log and you should find an error. That error will be in the compiled version of the template, so there will be a mistake in the way you applied the change to the template.

Unfortunately, in line with the standard phpBB policy I don't officially support extra skins beyond the defaults. I'll give pointers where I can, but each user needs to work out how they want to apply the code to their site if they don't use Subsilver or Prosilver.

Thanks.

Thanks for the thoughtful response. Manual installation failed, I will try automod next. I understand that non default skins are not officially supported, I'm just puzzled since applying the Subsilver2 installation to my skin worked perfectly in an older board version.

Are there changes to the subsilver2 instruction set in 1.1.1? Because I couldn't read the XML properly I just used the same instructions as the older version of the mod made for PHPBB 3.0.4

I've just tested the SubSilver instructions and it seems that Chromium wants to show me a blank page, but Firefox renders it all okay. It looks like there were minimal changes to the subsilver instructions, so I don't know why Chromium doesn't like it.

[edit] It looks like Chromium doesn't like any of my local mod instruction files, although it is reads the online examples fine (but not if I save it locally). I've checked the instructions and made the "finds" more specific for viewtopic.php. I have a 1.2.1 ready to upload, but 1.2.0 is still pending, so I can't upload it yet.

This is the dev thread, not the release thread. There is separate support forums for released MODs.

The instructions provided only update the ProSilver and Subsilver themes (as is normal - they're the only two official themes). If you use another theme then you'll have to make similar changes to your own theme. Unfortunately there are too many themes for me to provide support for any themes beyond the core two, but this should be one of the simpler MODs to adapt to other themes.
