couple of questions

are you sure your edit in overall_header.html is correct?
did you refresh your template/theme/imageset of your style(s)?
if you are using a style other than prosilver or subsilver2, suggest you try it on one of those two styles first to ensure it works.

I need some help. I have installed this mod several times both on a test forum and on the actual forum. The mod shows up and seems to work in the ACP but when I change the configuration to show announcements to all it does not seem to change. Also no announcement show up on any pages. I have checked all the files and made all the changes, a few times, with no luck.

Hello again, the MOD works now only for guests, if i login the announcement box disappears even if i set the configuration of that mod to "everyone"

refreshed the style, i use only the prosilver

purged the cache

any advice?!

if it is based on prosilver,t ry the prosilver edits and files.

if that style is based on subsilver2, try the subsilver2 edits and files.

never heard of that before, have you tried reuploading the announcement_centre.html? are you using a default style? i am assuming the edits have been checked.

Prosilver and refreshed everything, a couple times. This is not the only mod that does not seem to want to work. Hopefully it will work as currently all announcements are done manually on the html pages. I am the only admin that knows how to do it though.

how do you edit your pages, i.e. what editor are you using?
also, do have debug enabled, i.e. in yoru config.php the last couple of lines are uncommented, i.e. without hteh

try play around with the div margins a bit until you have it the way you like:

open template/announcement_centre.html
the following will need to be done twice:

find

	<div style="margin: 10px 25px 0 25px;">

replace with

Code: Select all

	<div style="margin: 10px 0px 10px 0px;">

You know what? This MOD works for me, BUT the guests can see the same annoucement even with the option "show diferent annoucement to guests" set as YES at the ACP.

Can you figure out what's happening?

Are you writing a different announcement at the bottom of the screen that says guest announcements? If so check your user permissions in ACP for guests.
