Will the converter work for this? Or will I need to wait for another version? If not I don't think its a big deal at this point. I'd just like to know before I play around with it.

Yes, the convertor will work for this, although you should convert to phpBB 3.0.9 rather than an older version.

Well unfortunately the board I'm working on has a heavily edited version in place and I've had some trouble upgrading it to a new version of phpBB without destroying months of work.
