Convertor errors question - SMF 1.1.x to phpBB3

Convertor errors question

by bahgheera » Wed Jun 13, 2012 12:21 am

Hi there. First of all let me say that I REALLY want to switch to phpbb. I have wanted to for quite a while now, but SMF is getting my goat to the extreme the last couple of days so the time for action is here. Anyway... I read up on the convertor for smf to phpbb and saw that it should work for SMF 2.0. My forum (http://www.theflipsideforum.com) is SMF 2.0.1, so I gave 'er a go. I got an error midway through the process. It looks like this:

Code: Select all

General Error
SQL ERROR [ mysql4 ]

[0]

SQL

No values specified for SQL IN comparison

BACKTRACE

FILE: [ROOT]/includes/db/dbal.php
LINE: 389
CALL: dbal->sql_error()

FILE: [ROOT]/install/convertors/functions_smf11.php
LINE: 236
CALL: dbal->sql_in_set()

FILE: [ROOT]/install/install_convert.php(1654) : eval()'d code
LINE: 2
CALL: smf_convert_authentication()

FILE: [ROOT]/install/install_convert.php
LINE: 1654
CALL: eval()

FILE: [ROOT]/install/install_convert.php
LINE: 799
CALL: install_convert->jump()

FILE: [ROOT]/install/install_convert.php
LINE: 203
CALL: install_convert->convert_data()

FILE: [ROOT]/install/index.php
LINE: 326
CALL: install_convert->main()

FILE: [ROOT]/install/index.php
LINE: 203
CALL: module->load()

I tried commenting out the lines of code functions_smf11.php at line 236, as mentioned by the second error from the top, and continued from there with the successful completion of the script, but I couldn't log in to the forum and the database was only 13 MB compared to the ~300MB of the SMF database.

Any ideas on how to proceed? If I can convert this database I can finally ditch SMF. Please help! Thanks very much.

You should be using the SMF 2.0 which is listed in Available Convertors.

Doh!! The available convertors page that I saw didn't even have half of the convertors on the page you linked to... where was I? :shrug:

Thank you sir, I'll give it a go and see what happens.
