how can i disable certain topics

by jayboy21 » Tue Mar 21, 2017 11:11 pm

Hi i use this extension, and love it, but it is becoming troublesome because it is displaying topics that i do not wish it to, I have and admin area/forum that is private area for admin to discuss the forum and moderation etc and do not want the active topic scroll bar to dispaly these thread/topic titles..

Eg "we need to Ban the member Joe bloggs" for instance, i am sure how you can see that would not be a active topic/tread we would want displayed...

i thought maybe it could be controlled by permissions or similar?

You need to set user permissions, you can see active advanced topics, check no. for the moment you can only do this

And where and how do i do that? there is no place in the Advanced Topics Configuration area? and i just cant see how to set up in permissions area that normal users would not see an administers topic?

Permits are not showing the last active threads do not exclude a single topic or forum id, now you have to act on Permissions groups or user permissions in the Permissions tab.

So all this does is not allow certain users not to see the active topics at all, not to stop the extension actually showing the titles of topics they cant visit?

If you have a section of the forum who see only administrators and moderators
Users will see the title of the topic of the forum, but can not read it avviamente.

then again you can just decide not to display the Last advanced active topics to groups or users that you decide.

you can not decide to exclude a topic or forum

this function is not added in this extension, maybe if I find the time I will add this function

that is basically what i wanted, i cant exclude all the rest of the users over 2300 users just because it stops them seeing the title topic, it then becomes not much use.. the point is I dont want normal registered users seeing title topics of an moderators or administrators area...

ok I made changes to the file, this not show users the topic of a hidden forum, will only see the groups you have set up to see the forum
I hope i have helped you.

Load the modified files, then empty the cache in acp

I am not sure where they go so its worth checking with you first...

That has solved the problem, cheers,

One little observation if i may, i hope you dont mind..
Did you notice on your new update, once the scroll stops on the text the bottom of the words in the sentence/update, it cuts off the bottom of lower case letters like y,p,g,q etc...
see my screen shot below...

i hope this can be fixed...
