Greetings.

Is it possible to use this extension to automatically add a new user to a specific group based on their email domain?

For example:

1. User attends institution with an email domain of institution.tld for all students.
2. When a user with an email address ending in @institution.tld joins the forum, they are automatically added to all the default groups, but also to group(s) specific to institution.tld.

If this is not currently possible with this extension, is this something which might be added in the future?

No, sorry, this extension is not designed for something like that. That would have to be its own stand alone extension that you can ask for in the extension requests forum.
