First of all I would like to thank you for this wonderful extension.

And now to my suggestion...

Would it be possible to have x amounts of images in a directory and those images would randomly be used as a background every x (user defined) amount of time (minutes/hours/days/hours/weeks/months).

it would be possible, but it requires a lot of changes; even more if it were the user to decide the time and not the admin.
All this, however, I guarantee that more unwieldy data traffic

Though Im sure if it was up to the user he would set one picture and leave it...
It's something like the wallpaper you set it once and you are done till your next format...
