css - cmBB - Simple Content Management for phpBB

css

Hi

I noticed the css files in this ext apply modification to all my board and caused some screw here in there, with other extensions and other stuff.
Can you please fix that using individual css classes non affecting the rest?

Thanks

Hi

I have the same problem ...

If you go to https://www.paranormal.wien/ and take a look at the google-language-selection the graphic looks now weird.
And it also destroys many css functions (like the "Paranormal.wien auf ..." on the startpage on the left).
Can you please fix that using individual css classes non affecting the rest?

I can't take each and every extension, style and manual change into account. Maybe I can prefix everything, but that will take time. Perhaps some next version.

Not only extensions, but the main classes of css are being modified.
I had headaches modifying my header logo and title until finding out that the classes were modified by this extension.

That's a pity, because I would gladly make use of cmbb on my board.

Don't expect cmBB styling to be perfect on any theme!
I only provide some default styling. It works on prosilver, (but even basic layout there) but is totally untested on any other style. If you want to integrate this on your board, you should think about how you want this to look. There are thousands of boards out there with hundreds of themes, all with other extensions and custom stuff installed. I simply don't have the time to make this perfect for all of those situations.

Now, I've made some adjustments to the development version. Check it out at Github: https://github.com/GerB/cmbb

The menu bar however is still just a simple list of links with some responsiveness added to it.

An extension should alter only contents relative to the very extension, not the whole board.
Header has nothing to do with cmbb, but I spent two hours trying to understand why I couldn't style the way I wanted before finfing out it was affected by cmbb's css.

My style is prosilver.

To make it perfect for each situation you just need to use unique cmbb css classes which don't mess with other common classes in the whole board.

The update didn't solve, my header and footer are still messed up by activating cmbb extension.
There are still some css classes clashing with the core files.

Again; if you want real help you need to provide me with more information. At least something I can look at, preferably a link to your board where I can see what happens.
In default prosilver this works fine. I agree that with other style some rules probably clash, but I have no crystal ball. If you want my help, provide the proper info.

My style is a copy of prosilver, I don't use "strange" styles.

The descriptive tex of the board (the one under the logo) appears aligned to the left when enabling your ext.
This happens because (a mere inspection inside browsers like chrome is enough to understand) in your ext are applied changes to common classes, affecting both header and footer, whereas a simple creation on your part of "cmbb_custom_header" class and the like would prevent the problem.

You tried to solve in your last update by creating and changing SOME classes, but not all.

Repeat: the problem can be seen even in prosilver if you use descriptive text under the logo, I'm not speaking of weird complicated styles. You didn't think common classes could create visualization differences in the whole board.

Bye.

Still no screenshot or URL...

Look, on Prosilver I have this: https://screenshotscdn.firefoxuserconte ... 7d089a.png
It's also validated on Prosilver.

I'm not saying it can't be improved, but you need to give me something to work with. I won't waste my time with some trial and error to hopefully please you while you won't even provide an example screenshot, phpBB version, link to see what happens, etc.
