How I can change ckeditor to BBCODE

by lalalareks » Sun Jan 19, 2020 10:09 am

Hi everyone,
How I can change ckeditor to BBCODE ?

I want to use the standard BBCODE which is on phpBB3. I also want the right sidebar to move it to the left, how can this modification be done?

Not so easy. You should somehow disable HTML input (what CK editor is), remove the CK Editor as a whole and then run your input through the message parser. It's possible, but a lot of work.

Would you want to replace the left sidebar with the right one? Keep in mind that the left sidebar contains UI buttons required to post or change articles.

Yes. U understood me correctly. I want to combine them into one sidebar. My idea is to include the main buttons and to find out the created categories

Well then, I think you can simply put {CMBB_RIGHTBAR_CONTENT} into ./ext/ger/cmbb/styles/template/event/overall_header_content_before.html (which is basically the left sidebar). Keep in mind you have to change any CSS to match whatever changes you make in your HTML.

Wonderful. thanks for the help.

The question remains how I can change the editor, how to do it step by step.

Sorry, I don't have a simple step-by-step guide. It's designed to work with HTML (e.g CKE) and not BBCode. It can be converted of course, but someone has to figure out how and implement and test it.

If you think you are capable to do so, you should look up documentation about the textformatter, how to implement that in an extension and find your way with it. I'm happy to give advice where needed, but I'm not going to develop it myself in the foreseeable future.
