Should this work on phpBB3.1.11?

by DrewCraven » Thu Sep 21, 2017 11:15 am

I know this isn't officially validated beyond 3.1.10, but is there any reason why it wouldn't work correctly on 3.1.11? I have it installed and it appears to be working find for guests, but when I try and test it as a logged in user, I get a message on the contact form that I have been marked as a spammer:
No soup for you! It looks like you have been flagged as a spammer.
If you feel this decision was made in error contact the board admin.
I searched through the source files and found that message is not part of this extension, but a part of one of your other extensions, 'Stop Forum Spam', which I also have installed. Can you think of a reason why this would be happening?

Okay, I was able to fix this by changing the settings on the Stop Forum Spam extension. It was set to check against the SFS database by username, and so I guess someone has been using my username elsewhere for nefarious purposes. Thanks for two great extensions, by the way.

What's the user name you are inputting?

PS It works on 3.1.11 and all other versions from 3.1.10 and up.

It's a very common, short first name.

That isn't what I asked

I'd rather not disclose my real name on a public forum.

But that's just it. It isn't a "real name", as stop forum spam doesn't ask for first and last name. Are you using the latest version of the stop forum spam extension?

Yes, it's the latest version. And my username on the forum on which I have your extensions installed is just my real first name.
