This might be a solution to a problem I have with forum software for many years.
Boards protect user email inboxes from overload, If a subscribed topic sends a notification it doesn't send another notification until the user visits that topic.
But for small team boards like mine this is the opposite of what we want. We want to continue notifications whether we visit or not. So a visit is when it is convenient fr the user not a panic visit to make sure we don't miss things. Secondly visits are when we see something we want to Reply. But if we don't see notifications we cannot know if we want to Reply!
So does Digest send whether the user visits or not?
Second does the Digest give just a simple list of the topics that have new posts?
Or is there a snippet of perhaps 10-20 words to indicate the post content?
It would be nice to see what a short Digest email looks like.

Apologies I found the screenshots and they look good. Also it looks like a Digest can include snippets of posts.
Still would like to know if Digests send if a user does not visit forum for some time.

There is an option on the additional settings page where you can specify you want to receive a digest even if there are no new posts. This is not the default, but the administrator can make it a default for new subscribers in the ACP.
