Great Extension

I just wanted to thank you for your work. This is a lifesaver for me as im running a new, 6 months old, forum for a private group. Its really tough to keep encouraging people to contribute when there really isnt that much content there. This has allowed me to add frequently updated content and is already starting to increase traffic. I bought you a little coffee. Its the least I can do considering how much time you must have put into it.
If enough people agree and you have the time, since some feeds are better or more active than others, a few other options would make it even better, IMHO.

Being able to change fetch times for each feed individually
Maybe having an option to limit how many articles are posted, like 10 max or 15 max, or whatever number we chose.(one feed I like made 900 posts in 24 hrs)

Maybe it only applies to my use, but i included a feed in one of my inactive topics. It would be nice if I could set it up to post a few every day or 2 to make it look more organic.

Ok, please don't think im complaining, im not. You have done some good work and I love this extension.

Thanks

Wow, didn't ever expect numbers like that.

I need to think about this a bit. It's certainly doable, but I need to take the best approach. I already need to rewrite the admin module because there are simply too many options per feed already and quite some people asked for even more.

So, this will take some time for me to build. In the mean time, I think your best option is to let the bot post in a hidden forum and manually move the topics to the desired public forum. That prevents your public forum from being flooded.
My extensions: Simple CMS, Feed post bot, Avatar Resize, Modbreak, Magic OGP, Live topic update and Modern Quote
Newest: Quoted Where + anonymize

Like my work? Buy me a coffee to keep it coming. :ugeek:

Yea, I tried using auto prune, but it doesnt really work too well. So today i went into ACP > forums>prune forums and manually pruned all but the last couple days for the most active feeds. All were near or over 1000 posts in a week. Its no big deal. If I have to for now, I will just manually prune every week. Only 4 or 5 I gotta keep an eye on. Currently getting 15 or so feeds and it works great.
