Non-real results - Google Analytics

Non-real results

by Lor@n » Mon Jan 02, 2017 5:24 pm

Hello,
It seems to me that this extension dysfunction greatly,

Before going into 3.1.10, my forum was in 3.0.14 and the google analytic code was integrated manually into the header for 5 years.

When switching to 3.1.10, I wanted to use the extension "google analytic"

But after 2 months of use the following problems appear:

- the rebound rate rises from 1% (average) to more than 65% !!
- the number of pages viewed decreased by 40% (from 25,000 to 15,000 per day on average)
- the number of pages per session also decreased by 50% on average from 2.06 to 4.89

By disabling and removing the extension, and by re-inserting the hard code into the overall_header, everything returns to normal.

So it seems to me that something is wrong with the code.

I do not use it anymore, but I wanted to prevent it.

@VSE: I'm a bit concerned about this report. Could you please look into it with OP?

There's nothing to be worried about. As stated often and in the contrib page, this extension just places the default Google Analytics code in your forum html for you.

It does not change the code. It does not enhance it. It does not degrade it.

The only way the OP could experience what they claim, is if they were using a customised form of the GA code, or perhaps the outdated GA code from a time before google switched to universal analytics.
Dictated but not read.

Hi,
The extension work fine,
it's me...i'm stupid...

I injected 2 analytics code in the header from the beginning.

I never realized it.
My analyzes were therefore wrong from the beginning, and today with a clean header and extension, the results are finally realistic.

sorry again
