body text size not changed

by Xcalibr8 » Sat May 19, 2018 1:52 pm

Im trying this out, have it installed and activated. It does work but it changes all the board generated text to a larger font but not the body of posts. That is really what I was trying to make larger since some of the posts are a bit tough, especially for older eyes, to read on a small device like a phone. Im using black style on 3.2.0 .

Thanks

Can you check it with prosilver? It should increase post text so I suspect its something with black style

yes switching to prosilver does change the font size of posts but i can't run prosilver.... too ugly. is there a way to make this work on the text size of posts in non-prosilver boards like black?

Try the attached 3.2.1-RC1 Upgrade in the usual way.

IWorks perfectly on my test forum in both prosilver and black (and hopefully any other styles that showed the same error)

Please let me know if its working for you, and if so I will submit it to the CDB

yes that does work.

on a side note.... do you know of a way to make just the body of all posts larger and not everything else? This extension "as is" is great for the members that can't see very well as it make all fonts including the font size of the forum titles, front page text, etc larger. my issue is not with the size of the text of the forum topics, forum titles, front page, etc... my issue is the body of all topics, not just mine, are too small. yesy i know when i type a post or a reply i can make the font size larger before i post using BBCODE but i can't make all my users do that and that is what i really need

Its certainly easy to do, though it will require you to edit a file

OPEN

styles>{style name}>theme>content.css

FIND (around line 263)

Code: Select all

.postbody .content {
	font-size: 13px;
	line-height: 1.4;
	overflow-x: auto;
}
CHANGE

Code: Select all

font-size: 13px;
to whatever px size you prefer

SAVE>UPLOAD>PURGE CACHE

The Large Font Extension will still override this setting if enabled by an individual user, but otherwise everyone (users and guests) will see the larger font within the post.

If you also wish to change the default size in the posting area

OPEN

styles>{style name}>theme>forms.css

FIND (around line 262)

Code: Select all

.message-box textarea {
	font-family: "Lucida Grande","Trebuchet MS",Verdana,Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;
	width: 450px;
	height: 270px;
	min-width: 100%;
	max-width: 100%;
	font-size: 13px;
	resize: vertical;
	outline: 3px dashed transparent;
	outline-offset: -4px;
	-webkit-transition: all .5s ease, height 1ms linear;
	-moz-transition: all .5s ease, height 1ms linear;
	-ms-transition: all .5s ease, height 1ms linear;
	-o-transition: all .5s ease, height 1ms linear;
	transition: all .5s ease, height 1ms linear;
}
CHANGE

Code: Select all

	font-size: 13px;
to whatever px size you prefer

SAVE>UPLOAD>PURGE CACHE

Remember to back up the files before you start and remember you will have to re do the changes when the style is updated.
