Changing the looks of Modbreak - ModBreak BBcode

Changing the looks of Modbreak

ModBreak comes with some default styling, originated from the board I originally created this extension for. It will probably not be to everyone's liking, but no worries: you can easily change the style of the ModBreak at will.

The most basic approach is simply changing the HTML replacement for the ModBreak BBcode. To do so, go to your ACP, tab Posting -> BBcodes and select the mod= BBcode. Leave the BBcode usage as is, but you are free to alter the HTML replacement.

To get a totally different look, you can replace the HTML replacement with this:

Code: Select all

<div style="background:#f8f8f8;color:#222;border:1px solid #999;padding:10px;float:right;"><strong><em>Moderator Message:</em></strong><br />{TEXT2}<br /><a href="{TEXT1}" style="text-align:right;display:block;"><span style="color:#222;">-</span> {TEXT1}</a></div><div style="clear:both;"></div>
That would produce this result:
Of course, you can also just change or overwrite the CSS definitions in the stylesheet. Open op the file
you could change the contents of this file with something like this:

Code: Select all

p.bbc_mod_head {
	margin: 1.4em auto 0 auto;
	width: 80% !important;
	padding: 6px 12px;
	font-size: inherit;
	background: #BC2A4D;
	color: #fff;
	border: 1px solid #BC2A4D;
.bbc_mod_text {
	border-style: solid;
	border-color: #BC2A4D;
	border-width: 0px 1px 1px 1px;
	width: 80%;
	margin: 0 auto;
	padding: 6px 12px;
Which would result in this:
Of course you can also choose to just override the CSS definitions in your own stylesheet, just keep in mind the cascade-rules.

It's all up to you how you want the resulting ModBreak block to look. The most important functionality of the ModBreak BBcode is that it's only available for users with moderator permissions and of course some resulting HTML. So change that look at will!

Certainly useful extension, thank you.
And, as you were kind enough to ask for it:

What could the code for a very discrete, small, not intrusive, yet uniquely recognisable moderator remark on only one line look like?

Thank you for your time.
