I don't understand why all transaction information would be saved in this file and would not be in the database.

Could you check the error.log on your webserver?
Maybe there is a fatal error with the file ipn_listener.php

And yeah the database is only storing or doing anything when ppl do credit card donations. As soon as they hit "donate with paypal" it doesnt do anything for the forum.

Is there a way to install a new phpBB 3.2 with PPDE on your webhost, and provide me full access on it?

There is a way, but I wanted to let you know I'm currently no running 3.2 on the one with the issue & I don't really see me upgrading to 3.2 because of a lot of extensions that won't work. I'm currently at 3.1.9 however.

Since I'm working to 3.2.x, I suggested a phpBB 3.2.
But ok if it's a 3.1.x

If it's not already done, could you update the extension to the version 1.0.3 ?

I believe I'm already at 1.0.3, but I will have to check once my webhost resolves their servers issue. Seems that their hosting is down for whatever reason horrible timing since I have this issue now... but since it's sunday they claim their CEO is not active until tomorrow so I can't get into my forum right this moment :[


But.. if there's a way to check version number from the files for the extension, I can check through FTP? Could you tell me where I could find version through the extension files instead of logging into the site ?

Okay sorry for double post, I'm using 1.0.2 so it's not the 1.0.3 version, where can I find the 1.0.3 version? I thought I was using the most recent one already... oops. Sorry.

Alright, so I'm up to date with it, but it's still doing the same thing.
I donated using paypal and nothing happened on the forum -- > but it sent money to paypal account
I donated with credit card and forum worked fine user was auto-grouped/donation bar went up/admin got notifications + user was listed in the transaction log in ACP.

Im so confused

I begin to understand the issue.

All my test was made with a PayPal account linked to a Credit Card.
So I never test with a PayPal balance.

I've setting up my PayPal account to be able to test with PayPal balance.
In a couple of days, my bank will be linked to my PayPal account.

So we must wait.

On your website homepage, remove the ?sid=xxxxxxxxxxxx on the Donate button.

There is an issue on your links generation.
Eg: In the header menubar, the donate and memberlist.php (not donors) button have a trailing "?". This is not a normal behaviour.

BUT i would like you to know..

All my TESTS are done with paypal credit card linked to account. You see when it gives you two options
A) Donate with paypal
B) Donate with credit card

My donate with paypal is still linked to credit card as my source..


However.. it's slightly different than the donate with credit card option because it's already fileld out information for you through paypal. But when you hit donate with credit card you pretty much fill out everything about your credit card.. such as number.. security code.. address.

Just wanted you to know that I've been doing it through paypal.. but my paypal source was the credit card it is linked to, not my balance .. i never tried directly with a paypal balance yet I dont think.. but many members donate through paypal so I think somebody must have tried it with their balance and it never registered on the forum either.

But of course do what you gotta do man no problem.

Yesterday, i've tested with my real PayPal account on your testing board.
All have worked as expected.
I always tested with the PayPal choice, not with Credit Card.

Please, check again your paypal settings.
