Update from older version like 1.0.0 - Genders

Update from older version like 1.0.0

When you want to update from an older Version you can get an error when you try to activate the new Version.

You Need to do the following steps:

1)The old folder path was:
ext/phpbbmodders/genders
the new Folder path is
ext/rmcgirr83/genders

2)In the mysql database you need to Change the following:
datasheet phpbb_ext find the item: phpbbmodders/genders
and change them to rmcgirr83/genders

3)After that clear the Forum Cache.
Than you can activate the Extension.

I wrote this because I had used the Version 1.0.0 until now and today I wanted to update to the Version 1.1.1 and get the error that the Folder path is not correct.

The 1.0.0 version of the extension also uses rmcgirr83. Not sure where you are getting phpbbmodders from.

Hi RMcGirr83.

I used the Version 1.0.0 which I downloaded directly from github.

Here the original text:
Installation
1. clone
Clone (or download and move) the repository into the folder ext/phpbbmodders/genders:
cd phpBB3
git clone https://github.com/phpbbmodders/phpBB-3 ... enders.git ext/phpbbmodders/genders/

2. activate
Go to admin panel -> tab customise -> Manage extensions -> enable Genders
And the Extension had worked correctly with this Folder.
And this text is still on github readable.
I downloaded the original Extension Version 1.0.0 on 19.July.2015

You shouldn't be using extensions within github but from here.

I'm sorry, but why shouldn't I use Extensions from Github?
Is there a Special reason?

For the reason that you found. Authors may take over extensions from other authors such as you have discovered. Also, the extensions provided on github haven't been validated by the team on here and they could have vulnerabilities (sql injections, etc.).
