please give me a step by step introduction how to repair this fail

disable and delete the extension, re-download, remove all files from the ext/rmcgirr83/nationalflags directory, upload new files into it and try again.

Did you unzip prior to uploading via FTP?

i download it...unzip and move the whole McGirr83 folder to ext
like /ext/McGirr83
so... what should i do now?
another user with this problem solved it in his last post here with the same error, but why cant i solve the problem?
i want my site back...cant acces anything..

To disable the extension go to yoursite.com/ucp.php?mode=login once logged in access the ACP by going to yoursite.com/adm/index.php

I have no idea why your forum doesn't t think the table is there.

I'm sure this is long since resolved or Dennis rebuilt his forum, but I had the same issue. To solve mine I did the following.

1) Logged into PHPMyAdmin
2) Created the table "phpbb_flags" (ie keclcommunity.phpbb_flags)
3) Created "flag_id" inside that table.

I was able to at least get the ACP and then I could disable the extension, since itself still wasn't working.

I have testet this extension on a 1:1 board copie on my PC - No problems with the installation.

Before I wanted to make installation in liveboard - the same sql error. I have moved all from this extension - reinstalled. Now it's working, but I can choose only a handful flaggs - what can I do?

What do you mean by can only choose a handful of flags

A handful flags - There were about 10 flags to choose in the profile

However, I have found the error, the solution.
In the testboard I had installed a new flag, called sachsen
I copied all extensions from the testboard into the liveboard
The activation was not accepted because an incorrect name was present
The error was my flag, sachsen
So I have deleted this flagg - in the admin emptied the cache
activated this extension - There were about 10 flags to choose in the profile.
So I have deactivated again this extension and the working dates
than clean the cache - I have logged out of the forum completely
I have wated over one hour
Then I installed this extension again - Now everything is okay

Now is clear, when I will make the update to phpbb3.2 I must first removed this flagg, bevore I can reinstalling this extension - or can I change this flagg into an existing flagg?? I mean overwrite an existing flagg.

You can overwrite it, delete it and add a new one, etc. All done within the ACP options of the extension.

You can not overwrite an existing image that has the same name and extension as shown below.

That was what I mean - anyway I can ask a friend Who understands the matter.

Then delete the flag and add a new one.
