I don't blame you. Different gripe, same neighborhood. Users on my sight, get to post for free, offer the amenities of the Gallery for photo/storage convenience, plus many other extensions that make life much easier.... delete a post.... and they gripe.

It's free, but they expect "rights" and "privileges" yet are unwilling to pay (even though I don't ask).

It's a hell of a business sometimes.


Good work on this extension, and thank you very much (I think I did this already, but will again) for the attention to some of the editing issues I brought to your attention at Github last fall. It is much appreciated.

I am still running what was the latest edition of the gallery, as of last fall. I have noted the new pointer to 3.3.x version and may play with it on my test site later down the road.

I was going to migrate to 3.3.x tonight but real work caught with me ... so it will probably have to wait

I understand that. I wanted to get to more site work earlier this week, but I needed to drop two trees on the backside of my property.


Just an FYI, I decided to implement the newer version. All went smoothly, save for an issue I ended up fixing manually, and this may be out of your control....

Two "fields" in the database were not created in the phpbb_gallery_images table: image_has_exif, image_exif_data.

Using another copy of my database (all three are converted to 3.3.3), I created the fields and no more sql errors when trying to upload. I have no idea why that would happen, other than to say I had a hard time disabling, then deleting the exif extension before installing this newer version. I actually had to go into the database and manually delete that extension from the table. I have to get away from the screen for now, but later on tonight, or tomorrow, I'll search through my logs and post what, if anything, I find.

This is known issue - you have to install the EXIF addon from the addons ...and if you don't need it - then remove it ...

If this project is dead ..just report !. i tried to install and configure but it works 50% , it needs to be revised completely , and just wasted time ! not good...

Please use the master branch of the github. Project is not dead. Stale - maybe, dead - not.

Ok, it seems to work apart from some bugs .. I wanted to point out that from the UCP it is not possible to create galleries due to denied permissions, I checked there is no permission to create galleries. Thanks again for your contribution, this has always been a great mod I hope you keep going !

Go to ACP -> Gallery Permissions -> Personal Album Permissions or was it Own Album Permissions ... well the middle option... The first permission is the one you need.

Yes solved, I didn't understand correctly the central option seems all right I'll try to translate it into Italian, I'll let you know happy Christmas holidays

was wondering how to get rid of personal galleries?

i have all the settings that mention personal galleries set to no and have all permissions for all groups set to no

Oh ... that s**t ... It was broken as hell so I removed the setting to control it.

Go to ext/phpbbgallery/core/controller/index.php - at line 135:

'S_USERS_PERSONAL_GALLERIES' => true,

Change true to false.
