Thanks Marco .. the google one worked as do ALL image links from outside sources as I have pointed out.

Nothing new there - phb has enabled that to occur for 15 years or so!

We have done that for 15 years, but want to loaded images directly onto board and see them quoted.

Margo that google logo gif also loaded fine like the earlier one did. Those have loaded fine for 15 years quite OK.

Not sure what we are getting here - loading direct off laptops is the bit we are trying to sort out!

Man, the test I gave you to do simply states that the extension works, since it uses the same bbcodes. ;)
No need to reiterate the same thing over and over, I know the reason why I asked you to do so.

Your issue is elsewhere, as I said ask your host to check if allow_url_fopen is ON.

Also check out if the JPG extension is allowed in ACP/attachments, seems like JPEG is working and JPG not.

To momentarily solve your issue you can try the ACP settings to 0 x 0 which disallows the check-in for image dimensions.

Moreover, the code of this extension is not in any way touching any native phpBB functionality.

In case please feel free to ask support in the forums. There is nothing I can do here about your installation, sorry.

Thanks Marco - as I said I am not tech savvy - appreciate your help. We are just elderly old stamp collectors!

If the above ACP settings something on the phpBB control panel, or at server end?

Also check out if the JPG extension is allowed in ACP/attachments/extensions, seems like JPEG is working and JPG not.

You said there: the settings here allow 1200 x 1200 max, so the same place, set them to 0 x 0 and try.

You sorted it Marco - thanks. I owe you a few Espressos. :D

I set it to 0 x 0 and the images now load.

That will not be suitable for the main board as some dope will load up a 3000 x 3000, but it it a handy short term fix.

Will look into your suggestion to get web host to -

The error you see is not related to this extension, this error usually is caused by
the PHP directive "allow_url_fopen" being OFF, to resolve you should ask your host to put it ON

If you need further help about this the phpBB support is the way to go,
as you can see the extension works and this problems are not related to it.

Good advice.

I have looked around and cannot see what sections this choice is found in? POST SETTINGS it is not in.

Can you suggest which section to click to locate this please Marco?

All I can see is being able to choose what URL prefaces are allowed etc?
