3.2 compatibility

by 2600 » Tue Feb 14, 2017 4:01 am

It appears that this ext isn't compatible with 3.2 given the fact that when I go to the sitemap.xml I get a 404. However, it works in 3.1.9. Do you have plans to bring this ext up to date?

Yeah, I don't know what I did, but it does work in 3.2.

It may not be a 3.2 issue but PHP7 incompability.

I don't get any errors, but I also don't have the SEO settings in the Extensions tab after enabling. I've tried disabling and deleting data, then re-enabling. Nothing working. Any thoughts?

Checked PHP issues:
Just tried with PHP 5.6, PHP7.0 and PHP7.1 -> in all cases the same error as shown above persists.

Any gurus out there willing to share their knowledge?
Would be also fine if someone could recommend a working sitemap extension for 3.2 if this one doesn't...

many thanks!

Are you trying this on a fresh install of phpBB3.2? If not, you may try it in a subfolder on your hosting account.

Hi,

I have the same issue with the sitemap.xml file. It's simply not created and the "Total amount of URLs in sitemap:" is blank.

This is the first time I install phpBB3 SEO Sitemap and I don't know if it's a compatibility problem with the 3.2.1 (my version) or if it just not working in my environment because of other reasons.

My env:
- PHP 5.4.45-0+deb7u2
- Apache/2.2.22
- Linux Debian

- My phpBB is installed in /var/www/example.com/phpBB
- DocumentRoot is /var/www/example.com/phpBB
- GENERAL > Server settings > Enable URL Rewriting: Yes
- The .htaccess file in /var/www/example.com/phpBB contains the following:
RewriteEngine on
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ app.php [QSA,L]

I'm not as lucky as John Connor was because my configuration still doesn't work.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Hi,

to compare, if you set the setting: “Enable URL Rewriting:” to No. Is your sitemap.xml file is reacheable at this URL: http://www.domain.tld/phpBB/app.php/sitemap.xml ?

Moreover, you can try by changing this line: RewriteBase / to RewriteBase /phpBB/.

Hi Galixte de EzCom,

Thank you so much for your prompt response. The URL http://www.domain.tld/phpBB/app.php/sitemap.xml is not reachable but the URL http://www.domain.tld/app.php/sitemap.xml is. That's some good news to start with :-)

Modifying RewriteBase / to RewriteBase /phpBB/ changes nothing. What should I modify to have my sitemap.xml reachable at http://www.domain.tld/sitemap.xml?

Best Regards,

I don’t know your apache configuration (vhost, etc.). But to obtain an URL without inside /app.php/ you have to activate the setting “Enable URL Rewriting”.

The "GENERAL > Server settings > Enable URL Rewriting" was set at Yes but you gave me the idea to verify my VirtualHost and guess what! I had AllowOverride set at None. I modified it from None to All and now I can reach the sitemap at http://www.domain.tld/sitemap.xml :-)

Thanks a lot!
