Possible to make prefix mandatory?

by Ger » Wed Jun 05, 2019 8:41 am

I'm looking for a way to make topic prefixes mandatory for a certain forum. It's not an option at the moment it seems, but some pointers for extending this extension to make it possible would be nice :)
Can any of the developers give me some directions?
My extensions:
Simple CMS, Feed post bot, Avatar Resize, Modbreak, Magic OGP, Live topic update, Modern Quote, Quoted Where (GDPR) and Autoresponder.
Newest: FAQ manager for 3.2

Like my work? Buy me a coffee to keep it coming. :ugeek:

It seems to be pretty simple to check topic title or post subject for the prefix, like foreach ($this->prefixes as $prefix) {if (strpos($topic_title, $prefix) !== 0) {trigger_error('HAHAHA!!!')}}; or whatever you want to do in that case :P
The check just needs to be added to several places to apply posting/editing/etc processes.

crackp, it's event/listener.php, but if you have no idea about what, where and how to edit code I strongly wouldn't recommend you doing that.

This is unrelated to the extension support, also to answer I'd need first to apply all of those changes myself on some test board, make them completely workable and tested and then post it here. That's equal to a new extension development which I don't plan and don't have a time to do.
So nope, sorry.

There are no files to edit to do what the you are asking for. A whole new extension would need to be made for that. Please search the extension releases or extensions in development forums to see if something doing that already exists, otherwise you can request it in the extension requests forum.
Dictated but not read.
