Hello all - Youtube Videos Gallery

Hello all

My thread is just to say thanks for the hard work you put into the two extensions I'm using, mchat and YVG.

A few questions/suggestions as well.

Would it be possible to add Mchat next to the YVG to make watching videos with friends a reality? Like ATM, if you click on a video, only you watch it, and if you refresh the video will stop from playing. My suggestion is to leave the video running in the background once its already started, and have Mchat on the left or right of the video so the whole community can watch Youtube videos together and comment together at the same time.

Some of my friends use Tinychat at the moment, and won't join my site until there is videos, in a similar layout is there. Is this possible in the future, or not in your immediate plans?

Thanks for reading.

Is your suggestion to add something like a visible live video to all?

Thanks for the swift reply, Vinny.

Yes, that sounds about right. Its just I plan to use my server as a place where all my friends can watch movies together via Youtube. There is a space on the right hand-side(Where Mchat would fit nicely) of the YVG at the moment what lets you post replies. Only problem with this is, once the reply has been sent, it refreshes the entire page, stopping the video in the process. I'm wondering if its like possible to have like 1 person click that video and it stays running even if they log off. Then lets say, 10 minutes later one of my other friends join, that video would still be playing and they can watch from that point on, instead of restarting the video. It just makes watching videos more interactive when you can comment with your friends at the same time.

Like I used Tinychat before as an example, that site has an inbuilt chat next to a streaming service what can play Youtube directly to that room. There's no refreshing or anything, so anybody can pause it if they need the toilet. And everybody would be at the same place of the movie at all times.

Looks like a new extension should be made for that then. I'm not sure YT supports this.

Ahhh, I had no idea Youtube frowned upon things like this. Do they have a partnership with Tinychat at the moment? Like some videos won't load on Tinychat because of copyright warnings. Same way they show up on Youtube itself.
