Just unzip and overwrite the files and run acp_aumod_install.php

Thanks, it worked and I see it is 1.1.2 but in Automod tab it is still written 1.1.1.
Does it matter?

Does anyone know how to change the body of automatic e-mail message that users receive upon creation in their inbox?

Yes, it is.
Can I just simply open it and change it as I want?

Yes but use a good text editor like notepad++ [kb=tools-needed-to-set-up-and-customise-phpbb]Tools needed to set up and customise phpBB[/kb]
Notepad and wordpad can add something called a BOM which will cause major problems (blank white screen etc) especially with files of this type.

Ok. And is there a way to change the {WELCOME_MSG} which says:
Welcome to Board name forums
I would actually like to change the red text

Re: Updating from 1.1.1 to 1.1.2
You could remove
{WELCOME_MSG}
and put whatever you like there I presume, just backup the file, edit it and test it; see what happens. If you don't like the result, put the backup file back
