Installed Properly but didn't work

by agafed » Tue Sep 27, 2011 10:25 pm

Hey there...

I just installed this mod. Everything seems to be properly. I upload the file. I edit all the files. Then I purge the cache, but the stars do not appear.

I'm using the 3.0.8 version. There are no errors shown on the forum.

Any ideas of how to solve it??

Thanks...

Yes...

But not just me, a lot of users have been for more than 1 year in the forum... but the stars aren't shown yet.

Thanks!

Check the edits to your html files for the style you use.

Ok, I just finished doing it.

I checked that all the edits I had to add, were in each file. I checked that they were "before" or "after" as it says in the "install.xml" file.

On the edit I had to do on this one language/en/common.php I did it also in the Spanish file language/es/common.php. So the edit appears on both.

You think that may be the reason of failure??

When you edit the html files ensure you also refresh the styles template to display the change and I hope you didn't use the ACP editor feature to edit the html files with. If you did, then edit them again using an FTP program (like filezilla) and strict text editor (like notepad++) and remember, any time you make a change to an html file you must refresh the style in the ACP as the files are, typically, cached on the server.

Yes, I used a FTP program and a Text Editor.

Then what do you mean with "refresh the style"??

After doing the installation, I always go to "General" Tab and click on "Clean the cache". Is that enough or should I add something else??

If that's enough, I already dit it, but still no stars...

Thanks!

Click on the styles tab, then click on templates and for your style click "refresh" under the "actions" section. You may also have to add the image to your styles imageset as well.

Didn't work.

I'll try to undo everything and install it again.
