no .MODS tab, no errors.

I installed it manually, by doing all edits, I have also double checked those as messing up that is the most common cause of problems. I also re-uploaded all files in case I missed one.

I do not have a .MODS tab. I read that it should autoinstall, not sure that it has though. Seen a suggested solution to be running the remove_asacp.php, doing so result in an error that a number of modules does not exist.

I have the latest version of UMIL. I downloaded the latest version of the MOD from http://lithiumstudios.org/

I did manage to get a tab by manually creating a module for AntiSpam, but it would have been much simpler if there was an installation file, or at least some way to manually trigger the installer to get those added...

Yes, if you have a .MODS tab it should automatically add them , did you remove that tab from the ACP or something? You should add it back because a lot of mods rely on that

I never had a .MODS tab that I can recall.

I have not deleted any of the modules under "module management"

.MODS exists in the default install, but is hidden because it does not have any modules under it until a mod adds some.

suppose I must have removed it at some point then, don't recall doing so though :/ But it's been a while and a few versions since I installed it to use as a base for an arcade and some testing while building up my the site.

Guess we can call his sorted then and close the topic, if appropriate.

I'm seeing the same issue. .MODS is in the modules table. ASACP is installed with .MODS as the parent and the .MODS isn't showing. ASACP is enabled and set to display == true.

I installed a second module and made the parent .MODS. .MODS tab now displays but the ASACP module still isn't displaying.

phpBB version 3.0.8
PHP Version 5.2.17

I just installed this MOD via AutoMOD but I too saw no .MODs tab and saw no errors. I selected System > Administration Control Panel and saw there is a .MODs section and it is enabled. But there was nothing under it. So, I attempted to add the modules by hand. Still no joy. I will attempt to upload some screen captures I made with Shutter.

ACP bar - no .MODs menu

Selection_057.png
.MODs is in Module Management and enabled

Attempt to get in ACP by adding sub .MODs menu

Selection_059.png
Then added an ANTI-SPAM section

Selection_060.png
Then added the modules

After all that, still no .MODs menu. Help?

I forgot to add, I downloaded Anti-SPAM ACP 1.0.2 today from http://lithiumstudios.org/. If there is a newer release, I do not know where to find it.

This is probably because you don't have the correct permissions to see it.

eraccusa, try to run the antispam/remove_asacp.php file

I ran that, got an error about old UMIL. So, I ran uninstall from AUTOMOD and got a report that it could not find the parts to uninstall. Did a force uninstall. Removed Anti-SPAM ACP completely. Uploaded the ZIP and installed, got errors (same as below copied to pastebin.com). Uninstalled again, got message about old UMIL again. I am getting this although I had downloaded and installed an updated UMIL by hand a few days ago. After researching I found that the Anti-SPAM ACP 1.0.2 has the older UMIL and overwrote my update. This is bad. So. I recreated the Anti-SPAM ACP ZIP file with an updated UMIL included. Re-uploaded the ZIP with AUTOMOD and re-ran install. Got errors again. This was copied to pastebin.com: http://pastebin.com/ZvdzX4GG

At this point I am not sure what the problem is. IIRC I made some edits to the prosilver theme a while back to try to make it more readable for visually impaired people. Would that affect install of this MOD? If so, I can replace the modified theme with an unmodified one.

Added later: theme edits were only changes to the default font sizes.

I give up. I am removing the files for this from my forum as it is not working for me. I also got rid of the worthless phpBB reCAPTCHA yesterday and set up some custom Q&A anti-SPAM measures. So far, no fake SPAM users after doing this. I have been seeing between 4 and 6 SPAM registrations daily until now. I should have set up Q&A a year ago. You folks have fun getting Anti Spam ACP working. :)

How do I test to see if the mod is working? I have a new board and made several posts with similar titles but none are generating the related posts.

All is good in admin, all changes made as per the instructions, viewtopic.html updated and uploaded, no errors... so how do I test it?
