DVGFX prosilver based theme but not showing up

by beccasmandan » Mon Sep 17, 2012 9:51 pm

I have installed this mod which looks great on the preview of the prosilver theme,
my board is using dvgfx which is prosilver based,
but it does not show the different headers like the prosilver theme does.

i know this was written for prosilver, so it should just be a case of a few edits,
as a noob i am unsure of what to edit,
could you please enlighten me or is it classed as a styles edit and needing to be posted in
the styles section?

thank you and the mod is great

in your style, the background image information is stored in the CSS-definition of "navbar", so you have to change the bit in overall_header.html to

Code: Select all

<!-- IF SITE_BG_IMG -->
<style type="text/css">
<!--
.navbar {background:url("{SITE_BG_IMG}") repeat;}
-->
</style>
<!-- ENDIF -->

Hello again Balint,
my forum address is http://www.bobsarmy.com

Open: styles/prosilver/template/overall_header.html

Find
Tip: This may be a partial find and not the whole line.

Code: Select all

</head>

Add before
Tip: Add these lines on a new blank line before the preceding line(s) to find.

Code: Select all

<!-- IF SITE_BG_IMG -->
<style type="text/css">
<!--
.navbar {background:url("{SITE_BG_IMG}") ;}
-->
</style>
<!-- ENDIF -->

UPDATE:

I have managed to get it sort of partially working in Prosilver

when i use the custom header logo mod,
the image is the correct size but if i expand the page, the header repeats on itself.

can you tell me what i need to change for the custom header to stop repeating.

once this can be accomplished, then i have a better chance of it working on the DVGFX theme
that i want it to be working on.

Below are the links to my board for both DVGFX theme and the Prosilver theme

!! there is automatic music playing on the first 2 links !!

The main header i would like is here in the DVGFX theme: http://bobsarmy.com/portal.php?style=6

This is the main header in the Prosilver theme : http://bobsarmy.com/portal.php?style=1

This is the custom header in Prosilver via the custom header mod : http://bobsarmy.com/viewforum.php?style=1&f=36

As you can see the image is repeating.

This is the custom header in DVGFX via the custom header mod : http://bobsarmy.com/viewforum.php?style=6&f=36

As you can see the image is underneath the main header, not repeating to the side but possibly repeating underneath

to recap:

main header image is fine in both Prosilver and DVGFX

custom headers repeat in Prosilver

Custom headers are underneath and repeat below main header in DVGFX

Thank you for any assistance

UPDATE:

PROSILVER THEME

The sizes are correct, and it displays correctly except that it repeats to the side when you full screen the page, anyone know how to stop it repeating?
i have removed the repeat line in the overall header but to no avail.

DVGFX THEME

i found in the dvgfx a 2nd indentical section of text that when removed has stopped it repeating underneath the header. but now you cant even tell its there.
when i remove the line for the standard overall header it removes the headers and leaves no space for the custom header to show.
