mChat for Aero Style

by Siropu » Mon Jul 18, 2011 8:02 am

I've attached to this post a zip file containing mchat_body.html and mchat_stats.html for Aero style. I've edited these files for someone who's using AeroBlue so it should work on all Aero styles.

Re: mChat for Aero Syle

Dear Siropu,

I am glad to use your modification of m-Chat so that I can use it in aero style. Unfortunately, the top border of the m-chat appear to be broken (you can look on the attachment provided). Is there anything way to fix it, to make the border seamless like the original border from the aero style?

Thank you very much.
Looking forward for your reply.

What browser are you using? I don't see any problems on chrome, firefox, opera, safari and ie 6. And I didn't find any missing elements or errors in the html code either.

Try replacing the files and see what happens.

I use both of Mozilla Firefox 6.0 and Internet Explorer 9.0 which produce the same result.
You can view my forum at http://stei11.tk . You don't have to login, just take a look at the portal. I used your "table code" to change the style of the portal. It looks same, the border is broken.

UPDATE:
I have tried several browsers and I think this problem is caused by browser compatibilty because when I used Internet Explorer 9 using "compatibility mode", all of borders displayed perfectly fine and seamless. But, when I switch back to standard mode, the borders look broken like I've told in my previous post.

Looking forward for your response. I hope you've solution about this problem. Thanks.

I know what the problem is. You use Aero 1.4.5 and the modified files are for the older versions of the style.
I've attached to the first post the updatated files. Please tell me if it's ok now.

This is great, but how do I make the text on top white and in a box like the "Search" and "Members" buttons? Thanks!

To add the mchat link into the menu, open overall_header.html and add this code:

Code: Select all

<!-- IF S_MCHAT_ENABLE and U_MCHAT --><a class="squarebuttonl" href="{U_MCHAT}#mChat" title="{L_MCHAT_TITLE}"><span><img class="navbaricon" src="{T_THEME_PATH}/images/icon_messages.png" alt="" width="14" height="12" />&nbsp;{L_MCHAT_TITLE}</span></a><span class="navspacel"></span><!-- ENDIF -->

right before this code:

Code: Select all

</span>

<div class="navright">

If you want to make the mchat menu item visible only to registered users, use this code instead:

Code: Select all

<!-- IF S_MCHAT_ENABLE and U_MCHAT and S_USER_LOGGED_IN --><a class="squarebuttonl" href="{U_MCHAT}#mChat" title="{L_MCHAT_TITLE}"><span><img class="navbaricon" src="{T_THEME_PATH}/images/icon_messages.png" alt="" width="14" height="12" />&nbsp;{L_MCHAT_TITLE}</span></a><span class="navspacel"></span><!-- ENDIF -->

Clear the cache and you are done.

I'm assuming that this is going to be very out of date in 2020, or does it still work for the latest versions?
