Documentation to upgrade PHPBB to 3.1 and Digests

I am running PHPBB 3.0.14 and Digest 2.2.21. Since the board is so back level, I'd like to upgrade to PHPBB 3.1. I cannot find any docs that tell me how to upgrade, reinstall Digest and keep or migrate the Digest database. Digest is crucial for the users of my board. Help!
