Hi, a lot of my members are requesting the ability to create their own albums and upload to them and I want to allow them to do this.

but the only section I can find to enable this option is:

ACP > Permissions > Group Permissions > reigstered users > Administrative Permissions > phpBB Gallery > Can add/edit albums and permissions

I like the "Can add" part of that, but I'm not so sure what the "edit albums and permissions" part of it means. Can someone clarify? I want to merely allow the users to Create new albums, however, they should not be allowed to control the permissions and delete other albums, etc...

Can someone advise please?

Don't enable it. It's an administrative permission, as you can see. They will have to go to the ACP to manage albums.

I believe users should already be able to add their own albums, personal albums, in the Gallery tab in the UCP. To allow them to upload images, go to the Permissions sections of the Gallery mod under the .MODs tab. Choose "Own personal albums", the desired group, then set permissions as you want.

Okay. Thanks for this info. So basically, the user albums will be accessible from their UCP only and will NOT be albums linked from the main gallery page, am I right?

No, there will be a User Personal Albums section

EDIT: Okay. I think I'm getting close here. I enabled "Own personal albums" and then tried it out. Uploaded 1 test image and then went to the main "Gallery" section to see how it would appear there.

I can see my upload in "Recent Images" but there would be no other way to navigate to these Personal Albums through the main Gallery page since all of the Albums shown are the ones I created as admin (i.e. non-personal albums).

Is there any way I can create an additional section on the Gallery page for Personal Albums so that another user can click someone else's Personal Album and it will display the same way all of the other albums do? OR would a user always have to click through another user's profile to see their albums?

To accomplish what I'm trying to do, I think I found the option in .mods > phpbb gallery > Configure gallery

it was: View personal albums as album on the index

However when I opted "Yes", there was no link to Personal Albums off the Gallery index. to be sure, I cleared the cache, refreshed themes/template/imagesets... still no go.

My interpretation of this option was that when enabled, there would also be a link to "Personal Albums" from the Galley index. But I do not see it. Instead, I can only find all of the non-personal albums listed just like before.

Please advise (I feel like I'm very close here...)

Make sure you set the "Personal albums" permissions correctly, in .MODs > phpBB Gallery > Permissions...that allows users to view other users' albums

When you enable "View personal albums as album on the index" you should see the block "USERS PERSONAL ALBUMS" in the Gallery index

Can someone help me? The button Gallery (Γκάλερι in Greek) repeated 13 times in editor after the install of mod. Not only in gallery, but and the whole forum in every effort of reply to someone!

I'm not having an issue with the personal galleries...that just seems to work however I can't figure out how to make a 'Group' or 'Shared' album. I notice in these replies a 'main gallery' is mentioned...how do I do this?
