Cleanup After Un-Install - Red Blinking PM

Cleanup After Un-Install

by KeyJockey » Thu Oct 18, 2012 3:11 pm

Need some info on the files copied to phpBB folders for this mod.

I tried it, it sort of worked, but I had a problem integrating it with our custom theme. SO I've had to uninstall it for the time being. Might try it again later, but for now I just want to take it out.

Unfortunately I didn't make a backup of our board folder before doing this install, and now after the uninstall (via AutoMod) I am still seeing some apparently stray files leftover from RBPM :(

Nothing is broken by this, and it's not THAT big a deal, but it just annoys me when stuff doesn't clean up properly.

So I'd like to know which files to manually delete to get back to where I was before this all started.

Also better check file edits too, to make sure that's all cleaned up correctly: so info on exactly what files were edited for this mod would be useful as well.

Thanks in advance for any info.

Hmm, so first make copy of your files ;).
The easiest way would be to say that you should use your install_mod.xml and follow inversely to his instructions.

If We talking about v 1.0.9 and if you installed via AutoMod, so you should use the normal procedure to uninstall this mod, see screenshots which I made for you:

To reverse changes in the database, type in the address bar of your web browser:
address of your root board +
install_rbpm.php
then follow the displayed instructions:

Then delete the following files (or directories):

  • install_rbpm.php
  • adm/images/disable.gif
  • adm/images/help.png
  • adm/images/icon_edit2.png
  • adm/images/tabs.gif
  • adm/style/js/*.* (activatables.js)
  • adm/style/jscolor_rbpm/*.*
  • adm/style/acp_rbpm.html
  • adm/style/rbpm.css
  • includes/acp/info/acp_rbpm.php
  • includes/acp/acp_rbpm.php
  • language/en/mods/info_acp_rbpm.php
  • language/en/mods/info_acp_rbpm_help.php
  • styles/prosilver/template/jquery-1.7.2.min.js
  • styles/prosilver/template/jquery-blink.js

Refresh style and purge the cache of your board.

// edit
After this check the revocation of edits in files:
  • adm/style/overall_header.html,
  • includes/functions.php,
  • language/en/common.php,
  • styles/prosilver/template/overall_header.html

install_mod.xml file can be helpful, you can find it in the archive of mod, good luck ;)

Hi, thanks for detailed reply :)

I actually did the uninstall thru AutoMod already, and all that was okay. I ran the setup again just to confirm it says nothing installed. What I was really asking for was JUST which files to delete manually -- most of them were fairly clear due to good naming ("rbpm" etc) and the date/time on them, but just wanted to be sure.

Probably should also add the "install_rbpm.php" file in phpBB root folder, I assume to delete that too?

Thanks again... & BTW I do like this mod & wanna try it again later, when I have more time to integrate it into our custom style.

The mod is compatible with automod so I'm pleased to hear that.

What I was really asking for was JUST which files to delete manually
As I wrote above.

In your case if that file has been deleted after installation therefore you have to copy this file again -- to uninstall mod (to reverse changes in the database), then you can delete this file as well.

Thanks for your opinion ;)
