Circle of dots - ReIMG Image Resizer

Circle of dots

by kronos1 » Wed Jan 08, 2014 9:55 pm

Lately I am seeing circles of small black dots spinning round like the ones you see when a picture is loading. The circle of dots is about the size of a smiley. I am using subsilver2 on 3.0.12 and 2.0.2 Image resizer installed.

This is what it look like but it is spinning (between the M and smiley).

Here is a link to the problem

http://www.traditionalfisherman.com/vie ... 61&t=11008 (there are only two pictures in the first post of this thread)

Please note if I disable the resize image mod the circle of dots do not appear.

Any ideas why this has suddenly started?

Thank you

Actually its not loading anything. there are only two images on that post.

probably a conflict with a MOD ( shareon maybe?) or mistake in an edit by the board owner.

That *is* what the circle of dots means, it's loading an image or a smiley (which is just another image) but I suppose there could be a conflict with another MOD or a miss-edit someplace.

It suddenly appeared a few weeks ago and there are only two pictures in that first post and no smilies. Like I said if I turn off the image resizer mod the dots do not appear. It could have started when I upgraded the Image resizer from 2.0.1 to 2.0.2, the upgrade was done with AutoMod.

If I disable the shareon mod I still have the dots going round.

I have not done any manual edits.

I don't know, the screenshot above shows text and a smiley and when I went to the forum it appeared that ReIMG was disabled and I saw no "circle-dots." *shrug*

(I forgot to enable javascript for that domain, ReIMG is enabled but I don't get "circle-dots" there.)

I did have to refresh *once* to get the circle-dots to go away, perhaps clearing browser cache and purging the style/forum cache? It loads correctly for me 99% of the time though...

Perhaps it's something to do with the image host "tinypic"? Do uploaded images have the same problem as a linked image?

EDIT:
I'm leaning towards a bad edit or conflict now, I see *two* "loading" circle-dots for each image/smiley but they still usually go away once the image is loaded. Sometimes, one stays and usually refreshing fixes it for me. This double circle-dot thing isn't something I see on my forums or other ReIMG forums that I've seen.

It's a single edit to add the reimg template file so if anything it was added twice to overall_header.html unless an older version was previously installed. On my iPad right now so I can't really take a closer look...

Thank you David, I had <!-- INCLUDE mods/reimg_content.html --> in the overall header twice, must have been something to do with the mod upgrade.

Thanks for your help everyone.
