Allow different limits for IMG vs. attachments? - ReIMG Image Resizer

Allow different limits for IMG vs. attachments?

Hi David! First off, I just wanted to say this mod installed like a dream and it's been working perfectly for me so far. Very happy with it!

The only question I have is: how hard would it be to allow different size limit / thresholds for IMG tags and attached files? I'd ideally like to limit images linked with the IMG tag to 90% relative width, but I want to be more strict with attached images and limit them to something like 250x250. Is this something I could manually tweak somewhere, or is this just a nutso request? :D

The thing is that ReIMG doesn't do anything with the posting of topics, only the displaying of them by which time the images have already been posted. Because of that what you're asking is not possible with the current version of this MOD. Perhaps it could be something for consideration in the 3.1 version. phpBB I think already has some form of control possible for posting of images but I think that only applies to file size, not dimensions.

I apologize, I wasn't very clear. I was basically looking for exactly what the mod does now—controls the size and manner in which the images display, using the ACP controls currently provided (Maximum Image Dimensions & Maximum Relative Width)—just parcelled out so images get one set of values/limits and attachments get another.

As an example, here's my quick test:
Screen Shot 2014-08-11 at 12.11.16 AM.png

The top image was posted from a link using the [img] tag, and the bottom image is an inline attachment. I have the Max Image Dimensions set to 0x300 and Max Relative Width set to 90%. This caused them to resize to about 450x300 and 300x300 respectively (relative width didn't kick in).

I'd like to allow the [img] tag to display quite large images as long as they don't stretch the forum width, but I want to keep the attachment display sizes quite small, because people tend to post a few of them. I understand that this is a pretty esoteric requirement though. :geek: I should probably just suck it up and get back to enjoying this mod! :)

Ah I see. Well if that's so etching you think you'd be using then it might make it into the extension version (3.1). ;-)
