Hello,

I just finished installing the Thanks for Posts Mod. I installed manually like I did with the few mods I have installed. Everything went well. And I run the PHP file http://www.nigerianweddingforum.com/ins ... ks_mod.php

It took me to my forum. Then I deleted the install file and tried to access my forum again but I got the error below.

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /home2/host3681/public_html/index.php on line 160

So I re-uploaded the file and through the URL above tried accessing the site again. Everything went fine. I purged cache then refreshed Template, Theme and Imageset. Then I deleted the Install file. And activated the mod and did my setting. However when I tried to access my forum domain name I still get the error above.

Please can someone tell me what's going on?

That definitely wasn't where it took me. It took me to the forum Register page.

When I said I re-uploaded the file, I meant I reuploaded the install_thanks_mod.php You know after running it I was supposed to delete it. So I thought using that link passed as running it. So I deleted it. However when I did, I couldn't access my site's URL anymore. When I tried to, I get the error I mentioned. But when I re-uploaded the previously deleted PHP file, I can access my site through domain.com/install_thanks_mod.php

I did all edits I was supposed to do and didn't have any problem. I uploaded all files I was supposed to upload. So I don't know where the problem is coming from. Or isn't that the URL I was supposed to run?

That's the screen you should see when you go to the URL example.com/install_thanks_mod.php - You have to click the Submit button to run the installer.
If you don't see that screen then you haven't installed the Mod correctly; all edits need to be correct (plus those for your style) and all files ned to be uploaded to the correct places (including style files if you're not using prosilver or subsilver2)

What happens if you clear your boards cache? Delete everything in the cache folder on the server except for index.htm and the .htaccess file.

I deleted everything in the cache folder of the server as you suggested and when I visited the link again domain.com/install_thanks_mod.php I saw exactly what you said I would. And I choose the Yes to display all results. And clicked submit. I got some errors. Please see the attached images for all the errors I got.







What do I do next? I mean about these errors.

Plus when you visit my forum it still shows

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /home2/host3681/public_html/index.php on line 160

How do I correct that.

The error message says the database entries are already there, so you should be ok.

You need to check file edits (if they're right, the Mod works) - Start with index.php and your_style/template/index_body.html
Remember to clear cache afer editing.
