getting rid of the soft delete

by SimboSmith » Fri Aug 20, 2010 2:54 pm

hello. thanks for the mod, it is very well done.

i have hacked it quite a bit on my site, but there is just one thing that i cannot work out how to do.

i really want to get rid of the soft delete option entirely, and make it so posts just disappear when the users forever when delete them. i know that admins can hard delete them, but is there anyway to make that the default option? so that normal users hard delete them too, without going through the whole soft delete thing?

The easiest thing to do will probably be to modify the blog/blog/delete.php and blog/reply/delete.php files to force it to hard delete instead of soft delete (I am pretty sure you would be able to do it just by editing those two files, but am not 100% sure).

Yes, I would like to know how to just have the hard delete for the users.
Can anyone please explain this and post the code adjustment here.

Thank you.
